Interior build out, design, and space plans for Songbird

Client: Songbird (Pioneers of the Inevitable, Inc.)

Mission: To give a warm human and modern feel to this potentially cold office space.

Services: Space planning for employee expansion into a new space, build out of additional offices and server room, HVAC upgrades, design & fabrication of new employee desks.

Songbird came to us as a small cool office in the heart of the Mission. Exploding at the seams and needing to move into a larger office, they had found a wonderful new space in downtown San Francisco. But the staff was worried about loosing their funky Mission space vibe and instead feeling too much like a corporate office. They wanted a clean modern design, but surrounded by warmth and art. They also had several other challenges, such as needing to enclose space for new offices, installation of a new a server room (complete with HVAC), and getting all the staff in the space in a seating arrangement everyone would be happy with.

We transformed the existing open areas with old partitions that looked like this:

Into modern, clean private office spaces with these brushed aluminum and glass interior partitions:

The staff needed new desks on a tight budget. They were used to large work areas, and mobility. We took a plain inexpensive metal desk from EQ3 and added modifications in the form of a new top and storage areas.

Along with space planning services, managing the construction of the space, and the installation of a new server room, we were able to help Songbird into their happy new home!
