Tables and stools and giant 20ft long benches! Oh my!

We completed our delivery to SunPower's ( http://www.sunpowercorp.com ) new digs in Richmond, the tables, stools and benches we designed and made for them.All the furniture has custom colored pieces that match their company colors. And everything is made with FSC certified maple, and color dyed with water based pigments.

We completed our delivery to SunPower's ( http://www.sunpowercorp.com ) new digs in Richmond, the tables, stools and benches we designed and made for them. All the furniture has custom colored pieces that match their company colors. And everything is made with FSC certified maple, and color dyed with water based pigments.

All the furniture was shipped in flat, and slots together easily with a rubber mallet.

We finished putting together the benches:

Another cool part of this project was designing and facilitating the production of these 20ft long benches made out of reclaimed wood from the building they went back into.

And here are the benches we had made from that wood, in their final home:

Pretty cool, huh?

We worked with a company here in Oakland called Joinery Structures, http://www.joinerystructures.com/ They have an enormous shop that is able to deal with wood of this size. They hauled the material back to their shop, milled off the weathered exterior of the wood to reveal beautiful fir beneath,

and then delivered them to the site in Richmond.

We then had to fit them through this tiny opening to get them on the second floor. That sure was fun!
