The Main Entrance Once an indoor shopping mall, this is the entrance as seen from 20th street. A bright and striking update from the original space.
Inside, The Icebergs We came to call our seating units Icebergs, due to their angular white forms which allow for private and communal seating.(Photo credit: Kathleen Harrison)
Seating of All Kinds The Iceberg seating units have areas four lounging, communal seating, seated desk area and standing desk areas. Design for any and every working need.
The Corner Mural We worked with Oakland local Sean Griffin of GrifinOne to create this awesome mural spanning two of the largest walls in the space.(Photo credit: Kathleen Harrison)
Filling out the Space Being an old shopping Mall this space had lots of wide open areas. A long rope wall corner and several shipping container offices were ways of affordably defining the space.(Photo credit: Kathleen Harrison)
Container Offices down the Space We painted the shipping containers inside and out, and put carpeting on the floor to create private conference rooms within this larger space.
Simple Solutions Instead of building out rooms, this more affordable shipping container room was an easy solution. (Photo credit: Kathleen Harrison)
The Fountain We designed and built this large fountain to create a nice white noise within the space. Deep wooden seating around the fountain and river stones within make it a picturesque focal point in the space. (Photo credit: Kathleen Harrison)
Floor of Windows and Worktables The third floor of the project looks out onto a tree filled roof garden. Bright windows light the sea of large worktables we created for this room.
Robust Tables With large tube steel legs, these tables will be sturdy for a long while.
Long Tables and Birds We made additional tables for the first and third floor out of durable Machiche. These long work tables serve as additional meeting and work space in the day, and event space at night.
Casual Bench Seating A corner of casual bench seating by the third floor windows looking onto the terrace. We made these seating units simple and functional. (Photo credit: Kathleen Harrison)
The Roof Deck On the roof deck, multiple kinds of seating is arranged around a plush turf floor. Outdoor couches, cafe tables, lounge chairs and in the distance, a fun set of hills to relax on!
Putting up the Awnings We designed a bracket system to hang off of the existing framework on the roof deck. This allowed us to put up awnings to protect patrons from that harsh afternoon sun.
Complete with Tiki Bar On the far end of the roof deck, a full size Tiki bar and lounge chairs beacon patrons to relax for a bit.
The Roof Deck Design Plan Our original design plan for the roof top terrace.
The Second Floor workspace Floor Plan A top down view of the 2nd floor work space floor plan. This part of the project is still under construction.
First Floor Furniture Plan This plan shows our original design scheme with the iceberg seating, shipping containers & fountain, as well as the hopscotch & shuffle board we had stained into the floor.

Sliding Doors Each conference room container has a set of sliding doors for additional privacy.
The Fountain In the center of the 1st floor, we created a large fountain with surrounding bench seating. This splashing water makes a nice amount of white noise, solving sound issues in this large open space.

The Upstairs Bar Upstairs the work space has a lovely bar & break area.
Custom desks and Tables The dark ceilings, flooring and bright light from the windows create a dramatic and calm work environment. The custom tables and desk we created add a needed functionality.
Rope Wall Lounge Downstairs the rope wall lounge and a shipping container lounge define areas within the large open space.
The downstairs open work space On the first level the open co-working space is filled with the articulated 'Iceberg' seating, stripped floors and a dramatic full wall graffiti mural.
Icebergs Our Icebergs, as they became known, are dramatic, fun and multi functional.
Multi Functional Seating From standard desk sitting, standing desk height, to casual lounging, we designed this front lobby to serve any need.
